Tadpoles

Yesterday Mrs Z saw her friend getting  some tadpoles. Mrs Z said to her friend "Can you please get me some tadpoles for me so I can teach my class about tadpoles and how they turn into frogs."  Then Mrs Z brought room3 a plastic tank of tadpoles. They are called whistling frogs. Today, on Tuesday one of the tadpoles had two legs and one arm.

Growing things

This morning Mrs z brought sweet peas to school. She also  got  some peas. She ate the peas.
 I am growing some peas. Mrs z put the sweet peas in a jug with water in it.  The peas looked yum. Even the pod looked yum. Peas are vegetables like carrots they are my favourite vegetable.

On the 5 of  November we learnt  stuff   about  fireworks.   For our reading was making fireworks badges. It was fun making those fireworks. When we finished  we could make some twirls with the scissors. Then we could put them on our tops. Then we   had fireworks on us but Mrs Z said don't put them . they would  not be curly but if you dont pull it  it will be still curly. When  we did our poem  we got to draw some pictures  with wet chalk.  It was very fun to do that.

Melbourne Cup

Last  Tuesday  the    Melbourne  Cup  was  on.   The  class  had  different  jockey  tops.   Number   six   came  first.  Second  was   number  3,   and   last   was   nember  18.  In   the   Melbourne Cup     LJ   came  first.    Jayden     came  second,   Ksharne   came   last.  
It   was  a  very   good    time.   It  was  a  cool   time   doing   it.   It  was  very  fun   what   we  did   with  the  jockeys clothes.

Kite Day at school

After morning tea  some of the  fathers came to school. They helped us make kites. I did one with my Dad. I got to work in room2. My Dad came because it was Fathers Day. It was fun because it was kite day.
I had to make a kite before I flew my kite. Mrs Z let me take  photos of her huge kite. My favorite  photo was when the kite was stuck in the tree.

When it was time for lunch I got a photo of me and my Dad.

Duffy show

Today we had a visit from the Duffy Theatre.  It was in the hall at 11am.  They came to our school to show us why reading and writing are important.  The three people were David, Manu and Lusa.

The first thing we did was sing the Duffy song.  Then they taught us the rules and signals we needed for the show.  Next Lusa played a samoan action game with us.  Then the actual show started.  It was about a baddy who tried to steal Duffy's words. His friend Afi helped him to get them back.

After the show there was a presentation of the NZ Post awards to three people and the class presentation of books.

It was cool and exciting to have the Duffy show at school.  We hope they come again.

Fonterra Milk in Schools.

Today all the classes had milk.  We had to drink all the milk till it was dry. Next we pulled the milks ears out and then folded the bottom of the carton. We folded the sides of the box and give it a little flatten. Then put the top into the bottom.  We put the carton in the recycle bin.
